Hallo, ik zal mezelf eerst even voorstellen; mijn naam is Rian van Dongen, geboren op 20 juni 1964 in Schiedam en 

tegenwoordig woon ik in een van de grootste havensteden ter wereld, Rotterdam. Ik was altijd al geïnteresseerd in schepen, maar de passie voor cruiseschepen begon in 2014, toen ik nog in Antwerpen (België) woonde, met de komst van cruiseschip “Balmoral” van Fred.Olsen Cruise Lines. Ik had al eerder een passie voor marineschepen en maakte veel foto’s met een ouderwetse camera met filmrolletje (helaas zijn deze foto's allemaal verloren gegaan), maar in januari 2015 bloeide deze passie weer op met de komst van een vlooteenheid van de Chinese marine in de haven van Rotterdam. Op deze pagina vind U een overzicht van al mijn gefotografeerde cruiseschepen, expeditieschepen en marineschepen van mei 2014 tot heden die in dienst waren ten tijde van de foto-opname (het kan zijn dat de  status van de schepen inmiddels is gewijzigd of dat schepen buiten dienst zijn gesteld) met als enige  uitzondering het voormalige cruiseschip "Rotterdam (V)" van Holland America Line, dit schip was reeds in gebruik als hotel/museumschip in de Rotterdamse haven. Soms reis ik bij wijze van uitzondering met de trein naar een andere Nederlandse haven buiten Rotterdam of de haven van Antwerpen (België) om een schip te spotten. Of het nu voor een nieuw cruiseschip, expeditieschip of een marineschip is dat uit een Aziatisch land komt, zoals Japan of Zuid-Korea. Helaas is het voor mij niet mogelijk om alle binnenkomende schepen te fotograferen, omdat dit is afhankelijk van mijn werktijden, weersomstandigheden of slechte bereikbaarheid van het openbaar vervoer om op de ligplaats te komen. Als de tekst rood wordt weergegeven, betekent dat een verwijzing naar een externe pagina of link. Als de tekst blauw wordt weergegeven, dan betreft het een informatie update bij de foto en als de tekst cursief is geschreven dan heb ik dit schip, deze cruiserederij of marinenatie nog NIET in mijn fotocollectie. Trouwens alle foto's op deze website zijn met een eenvoudige Canon SX600HS camera gemaakt en zijn te vergroten door erop te klikken.

Al mijn 179 cruiseschepen en expeditieschepen zijn gespecificeerd in een tabblad Cruiseschepen met 42 links van huidige en voor- malige cruiserederijen. Door de jaren heen heb ik ook 5 verschillende cruiseschepen en 1 hotel/museumschip bezocht, deze vind

U onder tabblad Cruiseschepen (interieur). Mijn 171 foto's van marineschepen zijn gespecificeerd met 2 tabbladen, namelijk: Marineschepen (NAVO) en Marineschepen (wereldwijd), inclusief embleem, oorlogsvlag, geus en nationaal en/of NAVO-voorvoegsel.

Terminal Amsterdam en Felison Cruise Terminal in IJmuiden en havenbezoeken van marineschepen in alle Nederlandse zeehavens. Aankomst- en vertrektijden van alle typen marineschepen worden later toegevoegd, omdat hun aankomst vaak op het laatste moment word aangekondigd. De aankomst- en vertrektijden zijn opgegeven door de agent of havenautoriteiten, onder voorbehoud van wijzigingen en aanpassingen in de vaarschema’s. De aankomstdata voor cruiseschepen vanaf 1 januari 2025 zijn alleen gebaseerd aan de hand van gegevens volgens de website cruisemapper. Er wordt geen informatie gedeeld over schepen in onderhoud of bezoeken aan de marinebasis in Den Helder, met uitzondering van tijdens nautische evenementen. is also a small explanation in the English language, so let me first introduce myself; my name is Rian van Dongen, born on June 20, 1964 in Schiedam (Netherlands) and I currently live in one of the largest port cities in the world, Rotterdam, so there is no shortage of ships. I was always interested in ships, but the passion for cruise ships started in 2014, when I was still living in Antwerp (Belgium), with the arrival of cruise ship "Balmoral" from Fred.Olsen Cruise Lines. I had a passion for naval ships before and took many photos with an old-fashioned camera with a roll of film, but in January 2015 this passion blossomed again

with the arrival of a task force from the People's Libeartion Navy of the Chinese navy in the port of  Rotterdam. On this site you will find an overview of all my photographed cruise ships, expedition ships and navy ships from May 2014 to the present that were in service

at the time of the photo recording with the only exception of cruise ship Rotterdam (V), it was already in use as a hotel/museum ship in

the Port of Rotterdam. In the meantime their status may have changed or ships may have been decommissioned. With a few exceptions

I sometimes travel by train to another Dutch seaport outside Rotterdam or the port of Antwerp (Belgium) to spot a ship whether it is a new cruise ship, expedition ship or a navy ship coming from an Asian country, suchs as Japan or South Korea. Unfortunately, it is not possible for me to photograph all missing ships, this depends on working hours, weather conditions or poor accessibility of public transport to get to the berth. If the text appears in red, it means a reference to an external page or link. If the text appears in blue, it is an information update at the photo and if the text is written in italics then I do NOT yet have this ship, cruise line or naval nation in my photo collection. By the way, all photos on this website were taken with a simple Canon SX600HS camera and can be enlarged by clicking on them.

All my 179 cruise ships and expedition ships are itemized in a tab of  Cruise Ships with 42 links from current and former cruise lines. Over the years I have also visited 5 different cruise ships and 1hotel and museum ship, you can find them under tab Cruise Ships (interior). 

My 171 photos of navy ships are itemized with 2 tabs viz; Navy Ships (NATO) and Navy Ships (worldwide), including navy heraldry, naval ensign, naval jack and national or NATO prefix. The last tab of this site contains some relevant cruise and navy Links & Webcams.

On this website you will also find the Port Visit of cruise ships and expedition ships at Cruise Terminal Rotterdam, Passenger Terminal Amsterdam and Felison Cruise Terminal in IJmuiden and port vists of navy vessels at all Dutch seaports. Arrival and departure times of

all types of naval vessels will be added later, as their arrival is often announced at the last minute. The arrival and departure times are specified by the agent or port authorities, subject to changes and adjustments in the sailing schedules. The arrival dates for cruise ships from January 1, 2025 are based only on data from the cruisemapper website. No information is shared about ships under maintenance or visits to the naval base in Den Helder, with the exception of during nautical events.
