Hello, let me introduce myself first; my name is Rian van Dongen, born on June 20, 1964 in Schiedam and currently I live in one of the largest harbor city of the world, Rotterdam.

I was always interessed in ships, but the passion of cruise ships stared in 2014, when I

still lived in Antwerp (Belgium), with the arrival of cruise ship "Barmoral" of Fred.Olsen Cruise Lines. In january 2015 my passion has expended to photographing all kind of

navy ships, when a taskforce of the Chinese Navy visited the port of Rotterdam.

This website provide information about port visits of cruise ships, expedition ships at Cruise Port Rotterdam,

Passenger Terminal Amsterdam or Felison Cruise Terminal IJmuiden, but also port visits of all kind of navy ships

in all Dutch sea ports. And also some relevant links and webcams.

Below you can see which ships are moored in port today with the possible departure time (ETD) and berth. Port visits to the port of Rotterdam are listed in this colour. If the name of the ship, the name of the cruise line or the name of the navy country is in ITALICS,  then it is NOT one of my own photos, but unfortunately a picture for internet.

I will show you all my photographed cruise & expedition ships and naval ships from May 2014 to presentOver time

some photos have been replaced by improved versions and unfortunately it is not possible for me to photograph all

visiting ships due to work, accessibility or weather conditions.  With very few exceptions, I go sometimes by train to the

port of Antwerp in Belgium to spot a ship if it is a new cruise ship,  expedition ship or a navy ship that comes from an Asian

country, suchs as Japan or South Korea. All photos can be enlarged by clicking on them and if  the text is mentioned

in red it refers to an external page/link or if the text is in blue, this means an information change or at the photo.

There is one map ocruise & expedition ships (157 ships specified into 38 shipping companies, with ships are currently in service or former ships of thoses cruise lines or even cruise lines  that have already been declared bankrupt), included 5 photo albums aboard of AIDAprima, Costa Magica, Magellan, MSC Splendida and Nautica.

A map with navy ships (157 ships specified into 33 countries, with ships are currently in service or already decommissioned). And finally a map with 5 special ships, suchs as museum ships, residential cruise ship or a hospital ship, included a guided tour aboard  Rotterdam (V)At least you see my 5 last added photos, click on the red link to see more ships of this cruise line or navy country.
